MG15 was formed in 1983, and they were perhaps the first Spanish reply to the International hardcore punk scene which emerged at the beginning of the 80’s.

The name of the group was inspired by the massive destruction weapon: gas VX, the letters of which came from the name “Mortal Gas 15” and thus the name MG15. The original members of the group were Ivan (guitar, voice & lyrics), Diego (bass guitar) and Miguel (drums), formation which they repeated several times throughout the history of the group.

In 1984 its inclusion in collections in England & the USA, in fanzines and specialist magazines of the standing of “Maximum rock’roll” and on the unconventional radio stations, contributed to them rapidly finding a place on the alternative scene of the moment. Their dark raw punk, the apocalyptic lyrics, the fact that they sang in Spanish, the small volume of the records released and a completely underground distribution, all contributed to them becoming a cult band on mature Hardcore Punk scenarios such as Japan, Europe, USA and South America.

The latest release of “Los singles: 1983-2005” “The singles 1983-2005” met with the band’s approval and includes all the early editions, which will never again be edited in another format. For this reason, this record, together with “Clon” “Clone” (1994) and “El álbum negro” “The black album” (2007) make up the essential trilogy to be able to understand how a band like MG15, having played so few concerts and edited so few records in nearly 25 years, has been able to become one of the reference groups of this style and an influence on other extreme music groups..
